Android N for Galaxy S7 on Vodafone Australia is version 7.0

Well, so much for getting our hopes up for Android 7.1.1, at least at Vodafone in Australia.

The carrier announced last week that it was performing tests for the Android Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. We now know from a comment and reply on the software update post that the final software version you will likely find on applicable units will be 7.0.

One moderator of the Galaxy Beta Program mentioned that a software package based on Android 7.1.1 (the current version for Nexus, Pixel and some Android One devices) is in the pipeline to be delivered to the two flagships.

Some other commenters have questioned Vodafone about this development, but as a general rule, we’d take a company representative over the doubt. Nevertheless, we’ll keep tabs on the situation.
