All mockery aside, one of the biggest concerns a guy like me could have with Apple’s AirPods, is having these fall off. One size doesn’t really fit all, and given the lack of gel wings to hold AirPods in place, the possibilities of anyone losing one or both is already a source for viral video. The good thing is that you won’t have to shelf out another $159 if something goes wrong.
Apple has published its warranty policy for the AirPods, and so long as you’re still within the year of warranty coverage, Apple has your back for free in the basics like defective battery replacements, audio defects, etc. For things that exceed the warranty, like say aging battery replacements, that will cost you $49 a piece, and this even includes aging issues with the charging case. In case you lose any AirPod, or even its charging case, each of these will cost $69 to replace.
We’re still not openly recommending Apple’s AirPods, but if you still want to get yourself a pair, these rules make the deal a bit more enticing.
