Samsung Galaxy S8 shows up in shop window ahead of official launch

Well, well, well, what do we have here? It's only the Samsung Galaxy S8 sitting pride of place in a UK shop window hours before its official launch.

Okay, so it's not the actual handset, rather a picture, but it clearly shows that the home button has been killed, the bezels are super slim and that the fingerprint scanner has moved to the back.

The inclusion of "Galaxy S8 | S8+" in the top right corner also tells us we will see the larger Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus at the launch in just a few hours time.

Stepping inside the store we asked some questions about the Galaxy S8, and while we were told they wouldn't have the specs until tomorrow, the shop assistant did say the S8 will have a 5.8-inch display and the S8 Plus a 6.2-inch offering.

We were also told the phones will be almost bezeless, have a similar rear 12MP camera to the Galaxy S7 and an 8MP front snapper.

They were unable to confirm any pricing or a firm release date for the Galaxy S8, but said they expected it to arrive in the next week or two.

There's nothing new here then in terms of information, but it does provide proof that we will see two handsets launched by Samsung today, and the leaks showing the design of the phones appear to be accurate.
