Latest OnePlus 5T press renders give a better look at the phone

As the OnePlus 5T launch gets closer, the rate at which rumours pour in is also increasing. The latest OnePlus 5T leak gives us the clearest look yet at the OnePlus 5T, revealing the phone’s top half with thin bezels on the top as well as the two sides.

Thin bezels are all the rage these days and it looks like OnePlus is not going to be the one to miss this train – despite there being few hints about any significant upgrades in terms of hardware, the OnePlus 5T could end up as one of the better-looking phones this year, and offer good value for money at the same time.

The first clear look at the OnePlus 5T comes courtesy of popular tipster @evleaks, showing off the top half of the phone. In addition to the thin bezels, it also reveals the power button on the side and a front camera sensor. While the rumour mill doesn’t point at any major hardware upgrades, the new design with an almost full-screen display makes the OnePlus 5T look much more modern in comparison with the OnePlus 5.

Carl Pei teases OnePlus 5T

Over the last few days, Carl Pei has posted a couple of photos showing off the camera chops of the upcoming OnePlus 5T. While one photo shows the camera performance of the OnePlus 5T in testing lighting conditions, the second and most recent sample probably hints at a new portrait mode.

The photo has a decent bokeh effect, hinting that the 5T’s camera has been improved when compared to the OnePlus 5 in terms of software as well as hardware.

Inspired by Oppo R11s?

It is widely expected that the OnePlus 5T will look a lot like the Oppo R11s that is set to launch on November 2nd in China. It is worth noting that OnePlus and Oppo are both owned by BBK Electronics, and the OnePlus 5 looked a lot like the Oppo R11.

Like many other phones with thin bezels, the OnePlus 5T is also rumoured to come with a Full HD+ display, resulting in an 18:9 aspect ratio, with some reports suggesting that it could be a 6-inch Optic AMOLED display. Other features include an improved dual rear camera setup and a bigger battery.

While the Oppo R11s is launching on November 2nd, the OnePlus 5T is reported to launch a little later in November, possibly in the third week.
