Popular gaming hardware brand Razer is all set to enter the smartphone industry with the upcoming Razer Phone. Slated to be launched on November 1, the Razer Phone found its way onto UK retailer 3G’s website, revealing the key specifications of the phone.
Keeping it simple in terms of aesthetics, the Razer Phone could end up as one of the first few phones to feature a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Outside of Sharp phones in Japan, there probably aren’t any phones to feature this refresh rate yet. Apple recently launched the new iPad Pro models with 120Hz refresh rate and the results are out there for everyone to see— super smooth animations and a vastly improved user experience when interacting with the screen.
Drawing heavily from Nextbit Robin’s design, the new Razer Phone could also feature the latest Qualcomm chipset, the octa-core Snapdragon 835. Although this particular detail hasn’t been mentioned on 3G’s page, an earlier leak on GFXBench revealed that the phone will indeed feature the Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with 8GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Other specs of the new Razer Phone include a dual camera setup on the back— a 13MP f/2.6 zoom camera along with a 12MP f/1.75 wide-angle camera. The listing also reveals that the Razer Phone will come with a big 4,000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+, which is the latest version of Quick Charge and is faster by about 15% compared to the previous iteration.
The 3G listing reveals that the Razer Phone could cost £45 on contract, and about £595 on Pay As You Go. The final retail pricing is not known yet, but we should all the details as the Razer Phone is all set to be launched tomorrow in London.
