It took a while, but now we can see all of America’s big four mobile carriers showing the gift-giving spirit, with your favorite high-end smartphones heavily discounted or outright given away for free by Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T.
At first glance, Ma Bell’s Black Friday deals may well and justifiably be deemed as underwhelming. On AT&T’s savings-dedicated webpage, you’ll find a mediocre Galaxy S6 and LG G5 reward program advertised most prominently.
LG’s H1 2016 modular handheld can score you $300 VISA reward cards through December 29 on Next installment plans, whereas “select” Samsung Galaxy S6 phones only come with $200 coupons. And then there’s a so-so LG G Pad X 8.0 tablet available free of charge on-contract. Also, 50 percent off JBL Under Armour wireless Bluetooth headphones, and 25 percent off select cases, both offers valid until November 28.
Finally, a free prepaid ZTE Maven 2 by December 31, and $100 AT&T Visa reward cards with “qualifying” DirecTV subscriptions.
After doing some more digging though, it turns out AT&T can also hook you up with a free iPhone 7 or Samsung Galaxy S7 this holiday season, as long as you agree to Next plans and add DirecTV service to your account as well. Better yet, the GS7 is joined by a complimentary Gear VR headset, and the Galaxy Tab E can also be yours for free if you sign up to a 24-month pact. Oh, and the marked-down LG G5 is offered with a gratis bundled G Pad X 10.1 on a similar 2-year agreement. Not too shabby after all!
