Canadian Pixel update shakes things up with new Moves

The Pixel may soon unlock a couple of gestures that will make unlocking the device a little easier.

Canadian units of the Pixel and Pixel XL seemed to have first dibs on what appears to be a preview (or, at the very least, a pre-release) build of the next version of Android 7.1, named NPF26J. The reason why it’s so odd is because this software package was transmitted over the air through Telus and not as part of the Android 7.1 Developer Preview program — which got its second major update today.

This “Security Update + Bug Fixes” may have quashed some critters, but it also brought a couple of new Moves like being able to double-tap the screen from sleep to bring up notifications. Another Move allows you to get your notifications by lifting the phone.

If you have a Pixel or Pixel XL on build NDE63V, you can click on the following links to sideload the update.
