OPPO A57 is another mid-ranger in a widening series

Does it feel like OPPO isn’t pushing the envelope anymore? Maybe it’s just concerned with how people take selfies or something and isn’t interested at all in inspiring hardware geeks. You could argue that the baton has been passed to sibling brand vivo and its Xplay phones.

Well, between the lack of a Find 9 and every other phone OPPO has put out recently, there’s the A57, another option in the entry range and a slight change from the A59 released a few months ago.

Typical of OPPO, we find the 16-megapixel selfie camera front and center while the 13-megapixel rear camera gets sideshow treatment. A fingerprint sensor is also told of. The octa-core Snapdragon 435 chipset acts as the meat while 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage present themselves as potatoes. Android Marshmallow is on the phone as well as a 2,900mAh battery.

The A57 is available for reservation at ¥1,599 ($231) and will go on sale December 12.
