Xiaomi Mi 6 may use Snapdragon 835, chase after Galaxy S8 release

We’re already pretty sure that the Galaxy S8 will get first dibs on the Snapdragon 835. For one, Qualcomm is commissioning Samsung’s foundries for the processing chips. Another point, though based in rumor, is that a spec sheet for various future Qualcomm silicon leaked out on Chinese social media lists the Galaxy S8 as the 835’s first target device for sometime next quarter.

But you can bet that it’s not the only manufacturer preparing for the new 10nm SoC.

According to CEO of IHS Markit Research Kevin Wong, Xiaomi‘s 2017 flagship, the Mi 6, will be another machine that will feature the Snapdragon processor, but may see sales mostly from within China. Both devices are said to launch sales in March.

Xiaomi may be seeping cash out of its seams, but if it keeps the counter up like this, it may prove its weight in salt.
